BEGINNER:

• Never used a surfboard;

• Has surfed, but has difficulty catching waves (white) and standing up;

• Can stand up and catch waves, but not green waves. (Not consistently).

INTERMEDIATE:

​

• Can catch waves and stand up, but not in green waves;

• Can stand up and have been on a green wave with the instructor;

• Can start turns see intermediate assessment form;

• Can already stand up (and surf green waves, but with the help of the instructor).

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

​

• Has no awareness of the environment around him;

• Does not position himself well (rules and safety);

• Has an awareness of behavior outside, but does not catch waves effectively;

• Catches waves but does not do maneuvers.

ADVANCED

​

• Can catch waves, stand up and start maneuvers;

• Does maneuvers, but with little consistency;

• Performs maneuvers consistently, but not very fluidly.
